When do you meet?

On Mondays and Wednesdays from 19:00 until approximately 20:00.

Sundays are at 08:30 most weeks, location are published via Facebook group. Please check this for the latest information. (Membership Required)

 

Where do you meet?

Shenley Leisure Centre, Burchard Crescent, Shenely Church End, Milton Keynes, Bucks. MK5 6 HF.

 

What Happens on a Monday Night?

What Happens on a Wednesday night?

Wednesday night is distance running, normally covering around 10Km, but sometimes more. its either cross-country or MK's famous redways, depending on time of year. Due to differing levels of fitness, we sometimes get back around 20:15.

 

What Happens on Sunday Morning?

Sunday morning is distance running normally covering 6-8 miles, with additional distance taking sone runs up to and past 13 miles. These runs can be either cross-country or on the redsways, normally getting back around 10:30.

 

How much does it cost to join the club?

Membership costs currently £28 per year, this is reviewed yearly, with no weekly fees. For further details see the Join Us Section or Click Here.

 

What benefits do i receive?

As a member you'll receive 10% discount at certain sport/running shops ( such as Sweatshop and Up & Running) and you'll receive discounts on entry to most organised races, both on and off road.

 

What abilities do you cater for?

We have runners of all abilities from beginners to experienced. but we are a running club - 'not a learn to run' club. You need to be able to run 5km in less than 30 minutes and you will need to be able to run for an hour. The minimum requirements for Wednesday nights is 10 minute miles. We are sorry that we have this requirement , but we need to ensure we are fair on you and all the other club members.

 

Are there age limits?

There is a lower age limit of 18 years old. There is is no upper age limit.

 

Who do I contact to join?

What if i'm not sure about joining or just want to try the club out without any commitment?

Then simply come along for three sessions and see if you like it. If you decide after these sessions that you want to keep coming then visit the 'Join Us' section of the website or contact membership via email above.

If you don't then no worries, but we would be interested in why the club didn't suit you, so we can continually improve, please send us an email to the membership address.

 

Does the club run in the Virgin London Marathon?

Yes, most club members enter the general ballot for the London Marathon. Also as we are registered with England Athletics we receive one place for every 99 members.

 

How do you get the Shenley Striders club places for the Virgin London Marathon or any of the other Marathon or Half Marathon places offered within the club?

There are certain conditions that have to be met in order to qualify for the club's ballot draw. This is outlined in the following document.
